Well all, it has been quite some
time since I have posted and I will explain why. First, however Happy New Year!
I hope everyone is on track to the rewarding lives you all deserve. So now down
to business. So much has happened since my last post, I am not sure where to
start. I found employment, then found employment again and today signed a lease
to a new place. I think in the near future I will feel as though I have finally
settled into a new life here.
I have also begun to take steps for my future
career/community forming goals. This past Saturday I spent the day at a feminist
legislative workshop which was perfect timing considering I will be meeting
with State Representative Stacey Abrams for a second time in a few weeks and
possibly attending an advocacy day at the Georgia state capital. I am very
interested in politics at the state and municipal levels so it’s exciting to
find opportunities to become more engaged in these spaces. Adjusting to
life here is still incredibly challenging. While I am an opinionated individual
and I have no problem working in goal-centered spaces, I still feel pretty
awkward meeting people. Making friends as well as dating has pushed me straight
out of my comfort zone. Finding my balance in this particular portion of my life
is definitely going to take some time and I am absolutely ok with that. I may
expound on that at some point but I am still pretty private about my personal
life.
Writing this blog is helping me be more open but…, you know; baby steps. :-)
With that said I will end this info-fest however, one quick plea to all of you
if I may? Please vote this year, and I’m not talking about the presidential
candidacy (although that is valid as well) I am referring to your state and
municipal elections. Those are the ones which will truly impact you and your
community. So yea that is all for now, everyone stay fabulous and let me know
what you would like to see in a future post. Have a great week!
